A memo pinned up somewhere

What Kind Of Goofy Dot Com Is This?

We need no tracking scripts and cookie junk and nobody will be asking for anybody's email address because this part of this domain is a public service reminder of what the web was like before it became overly commercialized and content was relativily ad free compared to today where some sites have more ads than actual content. Heinous ads that want to latch on to your browser and follow it arounnd on the internets gathering data on your activities to report back to their Mother Corporations. Pages load faster without all that crap and content is delivered more readily, whatever content abounds, skimpy as it may be in some spots around here. Nobody here is interested in your comings & goings around the web. Happy to have you stop by and always wish you the best when you have to go.

So, What's The Skinny Here?

Crazy Shit I Heard On The Internet Dot Com was originally a place holder for one graphic, a screenshot of the birth of the domain as the egg dropped and incubation began. Later a Piwigo install was nestled into its own little folder to give some merry memesters of the internets a domain space to create log-ins and have a little space to share their stuff, with all members having moderator privleges (except that one guy).

After that it became an archive of monthly samplings of memes that were in circulation on the webs over the last couple years. During the run-up to the last presidential race infographics began popping up amidst the meme gardens, followed by another bloom of the pesky things during the pandemic.

While the meme stacks were getting higher and higher in that area of the domain, development of the front pages languished far too many months in a long series of stalled negotiations for original artwork and a coder. Finally, this web template was selected by a frusrated domain owner and work on these few pages began just to make sort of a virtual veranda instead of a solitary doorway page. The CSS of Pitseleh's web template is untouched (so far) and all that's really been done is pour content into the template, leaving in a couple humorous elements of it just for the fun of running with the joke.

The quick unseen foxes..

In this case those wily, wascally wabbits are:
  • Pitseleh - who put this template together and whose domain at www (dot) pitseleh (dot) co (dot) uk is not found by my browser and whose visage I've come to associate with the avatar for the template, which we left in for this little section of the page
  • Howard Scott - the painter of the pic the graphic the avatar for the Move To Amend link was cropped from and dithered, along with the creators of the internet avatars from various accumulations that were dithered to black and white for the other colorless iconifications on these pages
  • Andreas Viklund - who designed the menu and whose domain is found by my browser
  • Laura Jedeed - who unknowingly inspired me to (finally) put a front door, with a li'l veranda, on this domain by one kind li'l mention that wasn't even aimed, personally, any where near my general direction but showed up in my browser in a search string for something else
  • And, most of all, the thousands of merry memesters who's graphics make Forward Slash main the wondrous image gallery and meme museum it has become here at C.S.I.H.O.T.I. today

Many Thanks, y'all, each and every one!
